Rural Village Solar Power Installation
Bringing sustainable, reliable electricity to a rural Ethiopian community for the first time.
The Zoe Project partnered with local leaders to install a 6,000-kilowatt solar array that now powers key village facilities and supports education, church ministry, and safer community life after dark.
A 6,000-kilowatt solar array was installed and is fully operational, providing stable, renewable power to an entire village and supporting families, the school, and the church.
Why This Matters
Before the installation, electricity was inconsistent and community life largely stopped after sunset. Solar power now provides reliable electricity, improved safety through lighting, and expanded educational and ministry opportunities in the evenings.
How It Works
The installation included transporting equipment into a remote region, building mounting structures, installing panels and batteries, connecting power to key facilities, and training local caretakers for maintenance and power management.
